Game Face blends funky guitar riffs, retro video game sound FX, lyrics that ooze with feigned confidence and a set of dueling instrument solos into a stomping, infectious, 3:27 self-directed pep talk.

Also serving as the title track from our new EP, 2.1: Game Face, which will be released a bit later this summer, Game Face is a song about staring down the things in life that terrify you, doing your best to navigate through them in spite of yourself and trying to keep a bit of a sense of humor about things in the process.

Peppered with lyrics inspired by the cliches that are often thrown as advice at people who regularly deal with anxiety, lyrically it walks a line between sincerity and a bit of sarcasm. The album version is explicit, but this single edit censors out the naughty words. (Though, please DO feel free to sing them out, at the top of your lungs even, should you see fit!)

In addition to another great guitar solo by Mark, Game Face also features an original saxophone solo by Ontario-based Chris Molyneaux (of Chris Molyneaux Jazz Trio), who we commissioned for the project on Fiverr.com. We love what he did and this ticks off a little musical bucket list item for both of us, because how could you not love a sax solo, right?
